REPORT FROM OUR HAITIAN MISSION DIRECTOR – Pascal Permis
Again, I had the privilege to make several contacts with many district superintendents and their respective district mission coordinators, and prospective pastors and churches who have shown great desire to unite with the Church of the Nazarene.
Here are the following results from these contacts:
1. Central Florida District is interested to launch a study in the eastern part of the district to see how we can work together to reach the Haitian people living in Palm Bay and in Vero Beach, Florida.
2. Georgia District has shown great interest and desire to establish a new Haitian work. As a matter of fact, Rev. Ed Husband, Georgia District Mission Director, has expressed desire to establish a new Haitian work in every city where Haitians can be found. Presently, there is a Newstart in embryonic stage at Decatur.
3. There is talk with a handful of people and their pastor in Fort Lauderdale who have expressed a desire to unite with the Church of the Nazarene. On September 29, 2005, I had the privilege to meet with them for a workshop on the doctrine of the Church of the Nazarene. They were very enthusiastic and affirmed their embrace of our doctrinal belief and core values.
Please pray God sends us the right leaders, as opportunity to do God's work is great at this time. |
