URBAN MISSIONS AWARENESS OFFERING
Sunday, March 12, 2006 has been designated as Urban Missions Awareness Offering Sunday. The offering, “One Dollar for the City,” would be designated to provide strategies and implement policies and programs to reach the oft-neglected urban areas.
Mission Strategy USA/Canada has initiated a renewed emphasis on ministry to the urban centers. In a recent publication, David Best, consultant to the department, related, “For a denomination committed to the Great Commission and Great Commandment, the implications are startlingly obvious. The divine imperative that has always animated Wesleyan-Holiness people has become for our generation, in essence, the urban imperative.”
